Camp Ihduhapi | Welcome to Summer

For over 80 years Camp Ihduhapi has been offering boys and girls ages 7 - 16 the opportunity to experience the magic of camping. Ihduhapi is located just 22 miles west of Minneapolis in Loretto, Minnesota.

Camp Ihduhapi is the perfect camp for the beginning camper to experience the fun and excitement of overnight camp while offering the returning campers their favorite activities, renewed friendships, and a place they can call their own.

Summer Overnight Camp

Campers ages 7 - 16 participate in small, age-appropriate groups as they build self-esteem, learn new skills, and practice the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.  Traditional Camp participants spend four daily periods in the Traditional Achievement activities.  Specialty Camp participants spend two daily periods in the Traditional Achievment activities and a two hour block in their Specialty Camp program. 

Traditional Achievement Activities include swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sports, archery, creative, Yipahudi (camp newspaper), nature, and outdoor cooking.

Specialty Camp Programs include horse, waterskiing, sailing, fishing, outdoor challenge (ropes/ team building), and teen extreme camp.  Choose an area of focus while still enjoying a variety of traditional camp activities.

Summer Day Camp

Campers age 4 through 14 participate in small, age-appropriate groups as they build self-esteem, learn new skills, and practice the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. And each year, every child leaves with special beads to mark their accomplishments and treasured experiences.

Day Camp activities include archery, canoeing, swimming, fort building, camp crafts, and group games.  Share your adventures with your family during family night.

Teen Leadership Development Program (LDP)

The Camp Ihduhapi Teen Leadership Development Program sessions are for campers starting in 8th grade up to Juniors in high school.  Session lengths vary from 6 - 19 days.  LDP campers participate in life-changing team building experiences and many leadership opportunities.  All LDP groups spend time in a wilderness setting on a canoeing or hiking trip.
